The Minister of Civil Aviation (Shri Sharad Yadav)

  • There is a proposal to shift the hutments near Mumbai airport in a phased manner.

  • As per census taken in 1995, approximately 85,000 hutments are scattered/located on the Airports Authority of India's (AAI) land all around Mumbai airport.

  • Yes, Sir.

  • AAI and Government of Maharashtra have chalked out a programme for resettlement of 2500 hutments in Jari Mari area under Phase-I which is required for immediate critical operations.
