The newly published
voters list of 288 Vidhan Sabha
constituencies in Maharashtra is nothing but
chaos and callousness of the Administration,
election officials in Maharashtra. It is
full of chaos – photos are mismatched, names
of big complexes are gayab. BJP leader, Dr.
Kirit Somaiya met the Election Commission,
Delhi, and the Chief Election Officer,
Maharashtra. Following observations were
made by him
1.
Pune-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation
– thousands of photos of almost all Assembly
segments mismatched.
2.
Mumbai-Satara Express Highway
booths/areas/EPS clubbed with old Pune City
Area, i.e. Kasba illegally (no geographical
connection).
3.
Publication at polling centres are
only on paper at many places. E.g. in Mumbai
North East Lok Sabha – Vikhroli Vidhan Sabha,
out of 27 polling centres, voters list has
been displayed, staff available at all the
27 centres – total voters 2.20 lacs.
Adjacent Assembly, i.e. Mulund (total voters
– 2.30 lacs), voters list has been
displayed at only 15 polling centres out of
53 polling centres.

Nowhere in Mumbai, Maharashtra, other
than the first-day advertisement in just of
couple of newspapers, any publicity
campaign, posters, banners, hoardings put
up.
5.
Common man does not know that Special
Campaign is going on.
6.
No corrections are made in the
horrible, defective voters list of Lok Sabha
2004.
7.
New complexes/buildings, which have
come up after 2001, do not appear in the
voters list, e.g. in Mumbai North East Lok
Sabha, 178 new complexes ( each having 112
to 167 flats) with 1 lac voters have come
up, but not a single name (almost) appear in
the draft roll. |
