Marathi

The newly published draft voters list is nothing but repetition of the 2004 Lok Sabha disastrous voters list, said BJP leader, Dr. Kirit Somaiya.  It is horrible that most of the housing complexes which came up after 2001 are not included or included partially in the draft list.  It is said that, instead of repeated representation to the Election officials, whole of the developments in Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar are not included, reflected in the voters list.

178 such housing complexes, which have 112 to 567 flats are excluded from the recently published draft voters list.

It is shocking that one of the biggest housing complexes at LBS Marg, Bhandup West, known as “Dream” containing 1700 flats and 5100 voters is GAYAB in the voters list.  This is the famous complex having Sharad Pawar Business School.

Dr. Kirit Somaiya has submitted the list of such 178 complexes to the Election Commission of India, Chief Election Officer, Maharashtra and Collector, Mumbai Suburban Dist.  BJP has asked the Election officials to undertake an intensive revision to include all these complexes and 1 lac voters in the voters list.

BJP has expressed concern that similar scenario to that of the polling day of Lok Sabha 2004 will be repeated if corrective measures are not taken.  It may be recollected that during Lok Sabha 2004, lakhs of Mumbaikars names were found “gayab” in the voters list.  They were deprived of their voting rights.
