3 years are over to the Chaos of Private Forest Land.  July 2005 Govt. declared “3000 Acres Development of Private Properties are Forest and illegal.  As per the recent list supplied by the Forest Conservator to BJP Leader Dr. Kirit Somaiya 67,438 Houses are declared Forest and attached by the State Govt.  The Forest Dept. says yet more land, survey nos. are to be included in this list.  In all 1 lac families i.e. 5 lac innocent have lost their “Ownership”. 

These land, Properties, Houses are located from Mulund, Vikhroli, Mandale (Chembur), Goregaon, Malad, Kandivali, Poisar, Borivali & Dahisar. 

Shocking surprise is the promptness of the Govt. to release 237 Acres of Forest Land to “Big Private Projects”.  The size of this project – land double than “whole of the Mulund Private Forest Land” says BJP leader Kirit Somaiya. 

These pieces of land, Survey Nos. were declared as Forest in 1956/57.  Attached afterward.  Land Records, 7/12 were changed in 2005/06.  Surprisingly and saliently all “Forest” entries, Stop Work Notices were withdrawn now.  Constructions restarted. 

State Govt. withdrew, released these land / properties by giving “Special Treatment” to “Big Developers”.  Provisions from all the Acts 1927, Reservation of Forest Act, 1975 Maharashtra Private Forest Act, 1980 Forest Conservation Act.

BJP asked the Govt. if these “Big People” can be accommodated them why not the 1 lac innocent families / houses?  5 lac “Small People”? 

Dr. Kirit Somaiya demanded State Govt. should come out with a schedule to protect 5 lac Innocent Residents before 22 August, the hearing at Supreme Court.  If requires “Special Provisions – Amendments” be made in this Assembly Session. 

BJP Mumbai President Gopal Shetty, MLA Sardar Tarasingh and others will raise this issue in the Assembly next week.
