Mumbai Police have registered case against Zoom VCAPL Joint Venture Ltd. for abnormal rise of accidents due to poor construction, repairing work of Eastern Express Highway near Godrej Junction, Vikhroli East. 

Mumbai Police have intimated BJP leader, Dr. Kirit Somaiya in late night of 26^th June 2008 that his private Complaint at Metropolitan Magistrate Court has been converted into official case and FIR has been registered : 

“Case registered under IPC Secs. 431, 304A, 420, 34 for poor quality and faulty repairing of public road of Eastern Express Highway making it unsafe for vehicles resulting in death of 6 and injury to 95 persons and for having used poor quality material for repair work”. 

In the FIR registered on 26^th June 2008, it is stated that : 

“Dr. Kirit Somaiya, aged 52, Chartered Accountant, residing at 9C, Neelamnagar, Phase 2, Mulund East, Mumbai 81, submitted a written complaint against Executive Director Kejriwal and other Directors of Zoom VCAPL Joint Venture Ltd. under IPC Sections 431, 304A, 420, 34 with the Metropolitan Magistrate’s 34^th Court at Vikhroli.  The Court has, under Sec. 156(iii) sent the said Complaint to this Police Station for investigation.  The complaint  registered as CC No.12/I&R/2008 at the Court has been registered as the First Information Report under MECR. – Senior Police Inspector, Vikhroli Police Station, Mumbai”.
