We shall stop the load shedding in Bhandup and Mulund, reduce the prices of 17 essential commodities, improve the functioning of the Central Railway, complete the 6-lane expansion between Kurla and Thane and bring to book the culprits who imported cheap quality wheat, which was found not fit for consumption by human beings, promised Mr. Kirit Somaiya, BJP-Shiv Sena candidate from North East Mumbai.

He was speaking at a well-attended workers’ rally at Bhandup yesterday.

During his hard-hitting speech, Mr. Somaiya lambasted the Central Government for its faulty economic policies.  He sarcastically remarked that the Government, which had promised jobs to 2.5 crore youth, has, over the last 5 years, made 1 crore youth unemployed.

Mr. Somaiya had the responsive crowd in ruptures when he produced the food grain packets to prove his point as to how prices of essential commodities had spiraled during the UPA regime.  Mr. Somaiya also assured the residents of flats constructed on forest land full justice.

Former Minister and Shiv Sena leader, Adv. Leeladhar Dhake kicked off Mr. Somaiya’s election campaign at the rally.  Others present and spoke on the occasion were BJP Mumbai President Mr. Gopal Shetty, Shiv Sena leader Mrs. Neelam Gore, BJP MLAs Mr. Prakash Mehta and Sardar Tara Singh, BJP North East Mumbai Dist. President Mr. Bharat Parekh and Shiv Sena Vibhag Pramukh Mr. Dattaram Gujar.
