Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh has continued the habit of making bogus and flimsy announcements.  Immediately after the formation of the State Government, Power Ministry announced 8 new major Power Projects to generate 11,000 MW power.  The shocking facts are that not a single of these companies submitted project report till today.  This was supposed to be submitted in Sept. 2005.

The load shedding in whole of Maharashtra including Eastern Suburbs of Mumbai is worsening day-by-day.  Mulund, Bhandup, Kanjur are facing 4-hour load shedding currently even in November.  “Only economic disaster, slowdown”, i.e. closure of units by the manufacturers will save Maharashtra urban area from 8 hours load shedding in 2009.

Mahavitaran/State Govt. has intimated Dr. Kirit Somaiya that not a single company has submitted its project report till now. Power generation can start 5 years after financial closure.  If the financial closure takes place in 2009, then also power generastion shall start only after 2015.  Vastavikata is that most of the power plants are at the same stage as they were in March 2005.
