It is a well-designed master plan to convert selected locations in Mumbai into ‘Mini Bangladesh’.  The modus operandi is same as Assam.  The selected areas of Mumbai such as Shivaji Nagar, Saki Naka Gaibansa Dargah, Cheeta Camp are being converted into Mini Bangladesh, charged BJP leader, Dr. Kirit Somaiya. 

It is shocking that around 10,000 new ration cards have been issued by the Govandi Rationing Office in the first 8 months of 2008.  Against this, for whole of Bandra-Andheri zone, only 8,000 new ration cards have been issued for the same period. 

It is observed that ration cards issued by Govandi Office covers Shivaji Nagar, Bainganwadi – The Mini Bangladesh.  Thousands of ration cards have been issued without proper documents of Residence and Origin.   

Following table clearly shows abnormality and manipulation in the issue of new ration cards for Bangladeshis :

It seems that new mini Bangladesh is being developed behind Ramabai Nagar, Ghatkopar.  2427 bogus/Bangladeshi ration cards alone were issued in the month of June 2008 by Ghatkopar Rationing Office.  It may be noted that during July, May, April, March, an average of 200 new ration cards were issued by this office.  Dr. Somaiya has demanded special investigation for such of abnormality. 

It may be noted that 15,000 Bangladeshi/Bogus  applications for new enrolment have been received during the August 2008 from Shivaji Nagar Area.  These applications were accepted by the State Govt. staff on election duty in abnormal manner.  They were not supported by proper residential proof. The Election Commission has Ordered Special Inquiry for the same.
