It is
shocking that the Collectors, Election Officers in Mumbai are
bent upon issuing bogus identity cards to thousands of
bogus/Bangladeshi voters. In the recent instructions issued to
the various Tehsildars, Electoral Registration Officers, the
District Collectors have strongly instructed that no supporting
documents be asked for from the voters applying for the voters
identity card.
The
Election Department has issued/circulated Form No.8, which is
for the correction and to get Voter Identity Card. In the form,
Election Department has separately printed in bold “No
supporting document to be attached”.
This is
nothing but help bogus/Bangladeshi voters to get bogus Identity
Card. This will encourage bogus enrolment and bogus Identity
Card. This shall also result in duplicate enrolment and
duplicate Identity Card.
It may be
noted that the status of issue of Identity Card is horrible.
Only 28% of the total voters have been issued Voters Identity
Card, which is 95 to 98% in Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh,
Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu.
BJP
leader, Dr. Kirit Somaiya has strongly objected and opposed the
violation of the guidelines of the Election Commission. Dr.
Somaiya has said that this shall encourage bogus enrolment and
bogus duplicate Identity Card. This is nothing but scam to rig
the ensuing Assembly elections. |
