Power
Regulator MERC held a Hearing at Navi Mumbai on the application
of MSEDCL (MSEB) to allow them to increase the Power tariff by
32%. BJP leader, Dr. Kirit Somaiya personally attended the
Hearing and made a presentation that the application of MSEDCL
should be rejected in total.
Dr. Somaiya
demanded that Maharashtra Govt. and MERC should also review
MSEDCL (MSEB) price hike proposal along with Reliance Energy
proposal.
Dr. Somaiya
requested –
1. Review
of MSEDCL proposal along with Reliance Energy proposal
2. MSEDCL
price hike proposal is very harsh asking for 32% price increase
3. In
the last 4 years, MSEDCL price hike is 200%
4. Review
of all the reliable charges and fixed charges
5. When
Govt. of India has declared 1.61% deflation, why the current
proposal for price hike of 32% against last year’s proposal of
12%?
As the crude
price in the international market has come down by 30 to 50%,
power tariff should be revised down by 12 to 15%. |
